Did you know that several very popular beer styles are the invention of American home …
I heard about the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown cigar (or better known as the Drew Estate FSG) via the wild world of social media. Drew Estate was talking about unveiling a brand new blend at Corona Cigars Company in Orlando. The filler was specifically made up of authentic 2014 Florida Sun Grown Corojo ’99 ligero tobacco grown in Clermont, FL. The wrapper is made of Brazilian maduro, the binder is Honduran, and the filler is a combination of both Nicaraguan and Florida tobacco.
I was vacationing in the Pacific Northwest and decided to light this cigar during our first night around the campfire at Snug Harbor on San Juan Island, WA. I slowly toasted the cigar while watching the campfire blaze, and listened to the crackle of the wood. I could look out on the water and see the sun finally begin to set at 9:45pm. Then I took the first puff of the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown cigar. This is one amazing smoke that is full of dynamic range and flavor. I would only expect this because it had been made by Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera. Who is known for making amazing cigars such as the Herrera Esteli and the Herrera Esteli Norteno. Two cigars that I have also given high marks and are a main stay in my home humidor.
The Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown cigar gives off hints of cedar, grass, spice, salted earth, and a finish of black pepper. The draw is easy and has virtually an effortless pull. The smoke is smooth and billows a sweet, wood-like scent. Neighboring cigar enthusiasts around the campfire that night complemented the scent of the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown.
As I started to work my way down the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown cigar began to see bright white ash building. This displayed expert craftsmanship in the rolling and manufacturing. The construction itself of the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown is really nice. Not a sign of unraveling, cuts or irregular marks.
Overall, a really enjoyable cigar that I would absolutely have again. Depending on your preference of size and shape, the Drew Estate Florida Sun Grown cigar is priced between $11.50 and $15 a stogie.
