Bummer of the Year is more like it. Now when I say bummer it is …
1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is probably my favorite affordable bourbon for a number of different factors. The price is between $25-$30, which for a bourbon of this caliber is amazing. 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is named for the official year Kentucky became a state. 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is aged in charred oak casks, and produces a 93.7 proof bourbon. The smell of the 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey gives off a smokey yet sweet aroma and the color is a deep amber. The cork is the most elegant bourbon cork I have ever seen, and the sound it makes once opened is a thing of beauty. From relaxing on the couch watching Netflix to having a campfire in the great outdoors, this bourbon will fit in for most occasions.
1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is the one bourbon I always have in my home bar, and the one bourbon my family knows to gift to me during the Holidays. The flavors I get when drinking 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey are a rich rye spice, cinnamon, fruit and a creamy finish. Now normally I do not like a high amount of rye in my bourbon, but I love the way it is complemented in 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey. I really do feel like this is the most unrated bourbon out there. It is usually right next to Knob Creek and Woodford Reserve on liquor store shelves.
I always find myself reaching for a bottle of this bourbon whether I am out on a boat or pre0gaming before I hit bars in downtown St. Petersburg. It has a warm, familiar taste that I can connect with. I always drink this bourbon straight and 8 times out of 10 I will put an ice cube in the glass to increase the sweet flavor of what some times resembles rum or sugarcane. I would pair 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey with nearly every cigar I have based on the spicy and sweet aspects that are delivered in every experience. Some of the cigars that come to might when pairing include the Liga Privada No. 9, BLTC Last Rites and the Nat Sherman Timeless.
I gave this bourbon the score that I did based on my personal feelings towards it, price index, and flavor.
