1502 Ruby Cigar Review & Video

Maximus Kenneth

This is a dynamite cigar! Featuring powerful nut flavors like walnut and fruit-like under tones, the 1502 Ruby made one hell of a mid-afternoon smoke. The generous Gary Griffith of Emilio Cigars sent this beauty into me along with some of its brothers the 1502 Emerald and 1502 Black Gold.  So thank you Gary ‘the founder of this feast’ once again for your contribution to our website BourbonandBroadleadf.com.

The 1502 Ruby is a medium bodied cigar with some great flavor hints and a smooth finish. Not one bit of spice taste despite the binder and filler being from Nicaragua. However, that did not take away from the overall experience of this cigar.  The wrapper has a seemless look which adds to the entire feel of the cigar.

Made up of a dark Ecuadorian wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder/filler, the 1502 Ruby is crafted to please both the experienced and novice cigar smoker.  The fruit and nut hints would make this a great cigar for really anyone who does not enjoy the typical cigar taste. It is a medium bodied cigar but is balanced extremely well with its sweet flavors.

You will also get very light wood-like undertones in the flavor of the 1502 Ruby, which becomes present around halfway through the cigar to the finish. Halfway through this cigar took off in flavor. Not that the beginning was bad, it just did not have the kickstart I was hoping for.  I am very excited to try some of the other blends 1502 cigars has out especially after tasting the quality of this one.

Pairing: The 1502 Ruby cigar would pair nicely with rum, coffee and a nice sweet wine like merlot or a Bay Breeze. Then again, if you drink Bay Breezes you should get off this website and never return. Just saying get real drink and stop being such a Peter Pan.
This cigar is a solid B in my honest opinion. Find it, buy it smoke. Thank us later.
